For New & Experienced Agents
Before discussing the opportunities available with AA Benefits Group, here's an excerpt from our home webpage. It's also on our welcome page. It's a message for our clients and bears repeating:
"Imagine a place you can go to anytime, for virtually all your insurance and financial protection needs. AA Benefits Group has assembled a team of experienced and dedicated agents and agencies that give you, our client, access to an array of services and expertise rarely found through ONE resource like ours. In a nutshell, we're promising our clients outstanding service and a single source they can count on for vrtually all their insurance and financial service needs. To meet this standard, we need a network of independent agents that will work in the best interests of their clients. This implies that integrity and a strong work ethic are always at the forefront of our business philosophy.
A New Career?
Being an Independent Insurance Agent - Video
This is a teriffic video that really hits on what's great about a career as an independent agent. It's well worth seven minutes of your time.

As you observed in the video above, becoming an independent insurance agent has it's many rewards and benefits. But it also poses significant challenges to prospective agents as well.
Everything in the business world is driven by sales. Of course this is no different in the insurance and financial services industry. So, obviously, sales is a huge part of building you're own successful insurance agency.
Notice what was just said; " ... building your own successful insurance agency". In other words, you are not just a salesperson, you're a business owner ... an entrepreneur. The success or failure of your agency rests almost exclusively in your own hands.

SUCCESS or FAILURE
Success
From our perspective, agents that endure and become successful, possess a strong work ethic. Equally important, they understand that the foundation of their own agency's success rests with the loyalty of their clients. That loyalty is earned by working in the clients best interst and providing responsive customer service.
Also citical to success; agents need to enjoy working with people on a one-on-one basis.
Failure
Of course there are many factors that lead to success. But the three just mentioned are essential. Without a strong work ethic, a commitment to client needs and service, and, the ability to effectively communicate and interact with people; anyone starting their own independent agency is destined to fail.
Even for those that have the fundemental qualities needed to succeed, this can still be a very challenging profession. The income potential is high, but it is almost exclusively commission based. Moving from a salary or wage based job to relying on often wildly fluctuating income can be a difficult transition for many new agents.
Other factors that have proven to be the downfall of many new and even experienced agents, are poor planning and ineffective day-to-day management of agency functions. This would include poor time management skills.
